Calcutta Travel Diary!!

Hello Readers! I hope you all are doing good. It finally rained in Lucknow yesterday but the weather is back with the scorching sun today.
So I went to Calcutta last month and I had a great great time. It was an amazing experience altogether! Calcutta is a beautiful place so I had to write something about it!

I fell in love with the hardworking and humble people, the Howrah Bridge, the sleepy green shuttered windows, wrought iron grills, the old world charm, the yellow taxis, narrow streets, colourful houses and doors, and the food(although there weren’t many options for vegetarians *as usual*) but you HAVE TO try the sweets of Calcutta. My favourite was Cham Cham. I also shopped ALOT from Calcutta (me being me :P). Below are some photos that I took.

That was all from my side. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend ahead. 🌼

  1. It is a well written piece. I am glad that you had a good experience in Calcutta. I visited the city when naxal movement and anti Hindi agitation were at peak. My experience was not quite pleasant.

  2. i also visited Calcutta recently, whatever you said is true but at the same time i noticed why Calcutta no longer remains the poster boy of 21st century india. i won’t be exaggerating if i say that it’s place is being hijacked by new age cities like bengaluru Hyderabad and even Ahmedabad and kolkata needs change

    1. Ya totally agree. Its an irony how Bengal was the first region to rise during the colonial period and now the city is slowly dying in terms of development! I hope something is done to revive the city while retaining its culture and essence!
